Is it the right dress for you? Run through the check list and make sure
The wedding dress can be one of the most expensive and likely to be one of the most memorable pieces of clothing you will buy. Not only do you want it to be perfect for the day but images of you in this dress will be passed down the generations.
Before you say ‘Yes to the dress’, here’s a check list to help you know you have bought the right one
Check all the options
If you’re 90 percent sure you want a full skirt dress, we always recommend stepping outside your comfort zone while wedding dress shopping—trying on a dress. It doesn’t mean you have to buy it! You may be surprised to find a classic A-line that flatters you perfectly and makes you feel like a real bride for the first time. So what’s the harm in slipping on something unexpected ,just in case? We so often hear a bride say they never expected to choose the dress they did, and this can only happen by trying on something different than they expected.we
It suits your style of wedding and venue
Just because you have been dreaming about a certain type of gown doesn’t mean it’s right for your venue or style of wedding. If you’re planning to dance the night away then that low plunging v-neck dress might not be appropriate, similarly a 3mtr train might not work so well for a beach destination wedding. You need to love the dress and know it will work for the climate ceremony and reception.
It suits you and fits perfectly
You will have this gown on for hours and want to look your best at every angle, believe me this dress needs to be your friend and work with you. Choose a style that works with your body shape and makes you feel amazing. Read reviews on bridal designers and boutiques as help full and knowledgeable staff can make a huge difference in getting the right dress for you. A strapless gown that needs to be hitched up or constantly adjusted isn’t a good look, neither is a set of unsupported DD’s in a plunging v neck. You need to be able to eat drink, dance and enjoy yourself in the gown without feeling subconscious.
You LOVE the dress based on your opinion
Even the strongest bride can be easily swayed by the opinion of a friend or family member, we see it in our boutique a lot. You need to remember everyone has varying taste, and not everyone will love your dress as much as you do. (sorry but it’s true). For your wedding day it’s your opinion that counts. If you constantly need assurance from your posse than this may be a sign to keep looking. Make sure you would choose the dress even if your shopping alone. You need to feel amazing on the day and beyond, the differing opinion of a friend will mean nothing after your wedding if you love how you looked and felt in the dress.
Your buying it for the right reasons
Similar to the point above, you want to make sure you’re buying the dress for no other reason except you love it. Not because your mom prefers another one you had your eye on, or because it’s the size and style you aspire to fit into in 8 months, or because the salon is closing soon and your getting a great deal. You will remember this day for the rest of your life so make sure its full of positive feelings and emotions, this is not the day to regret decisions. Don’t force it, feel pressured or rush it, make sure it feels right.
